Soccer, Science and Wheels!
It has been another busy month in the Preschool room. We cannot believe how fast August has gone! However, August has certainly been an action packed filled month.
Our construction interest is continuing to thrive and the children are being very creative and are beginning to think outside the box as to what other materials they can use to construct things with. Pun not intended, boxes are extremely popular with making all sorts of different things - please feel free to bring in any boxes that are surplus to requirement at home. Remember your junk is our treasure. If you also know where we can source a large fridge size box please let Lisa know.
Our physical education interest is advancing. This month we introduced our new soccer goal! It has been very exciting for many of our boys who love to play soccer. They have been practicing how to score goals as well as block goals from their opponents . We have been enjoying our monkey bars, and our new wooden planks that have given the children some more safe challenging experiences.
Our newest interest is Science. The Preschoolers have gone crazy with all sorts of different science experiments . Some included blowing bubbles, making pictures out of melted crayons, making a cloud in a jar and so much more! This interest was created when the "Science in a van" people came to visit us on the 7th of August. That was such great fun. The children found this very interesting and got them even more excited to see what other science activities they can do here at preschool.
Wheels, Wheels and more Wheels! We had such a fantastic bike day on the 21st of August to celebrate Red Nose Day. All the children brought along their scooter or bike to ride. Bike day was so action packed and bought so much enjoyment too.
On the 28th of August we supported Daffodil day where we all wore yellow. The children loved getting their faces painted.
