Moving and Grooving
Here we are in September already and can you see Christmas is just around the corner.....
Well we have all had a very busy and full on month in the Babies and Toddler’s room. We have started to explore some new and exciting interests, that we have started to see many of our children very involved in their unique exploring ways.
Our ‘Moving and grooving’ interest continues as we enjoy seeing many funky dance moves being created daily. The children have been exploring different beats, tunes, songs and exploring and creating different sounds with many instruments. Check out our new ‘Kids at Work’ board.
The teachers have also noticed a great interest in ‘Building and Constructing’. Little builders at work enjoy creating, building and constructing with the use of their imaginations. Through theses moments of exploring, children are learning to respect the work of others, further develop their fine motor skills, develop hand-eye co-ordination and on top of all they are able to create and express their emotions through being creative. As a team the teachers and children have been working together to learn and further foster the importance of using gentle hands. C
heck out “Our hands are for....” board. As teachers we have noticed an increase in the way our children explore with their hands and the way they begin to communicate with the use of their hands, so as a team we have come together to help encourage positive ways and the importance of gentle hands with our peers. Finally we are trying to encourage positive communication when words are very limited at the ages of our growing toddlers.
On Friday the 22nd of August we helped to celebrate ‘Red Nose Day’, we all came dressed in red, had red noses painted, pretty red nails painted and a ’red’ shared lunch party. So thank you all for your great participation and support, we all had a great day as we helped to support the cure kids foundation.
