January Pre-school Update
Welcome back everyone! We trust you all had a wonderful Christmas break. We are all ready for another fun filled busy year full of endless learning opportunities. There have been some pretty exciting things happening in the Preschool room already.
Some of you may have noticed our outdoor area is looking a little different…..we have been busy gardening! Last week we purchased a whole bunch of flowers and vegetables to plant in our planter boxes. Together the children planted these and so far have been doing a wonderful job of looking after them, making sure they are watered daily. This is a great way for the children to develop a sense of responsibility as well as develop an awareness about where our fruit and vegetables come from.
Now that we are in summer there has been water play out everyday for the children, we have also purchased more water play toys which have been a huge hit with the Preschoolers as they explore concepts such as weight, volume, poring and transporting.
Over the next month we will be discussing/celebrating Waitangi Day and Chinese New Year which are both early February which will be exciting.
The children have all settled back in well and are very happy to see all of their friends again. It’s going to be a great year as the children continue to build relationships with their peers, becoming confident, capable little explorers as they make discoveries and most of all have FUN along the way.
