The children were excited to have a visit from Nikeyla the local ambulance officer. She brought in a miniature ambulance that made all the sounds. The children participated in many activities including trying on the oxygen mask, dressing up in the officers uniform and practicing putting bandages on. This visit was a great opportunity to connect with people in our local community and for the children to understand the wider world around them. They also learnt that symbols can be "read" by others and recognized as a word (i.e. the ambulance symbol). - 13th February 2015
