Busy Babies & Toddlers

Welcome back to another fun filled learning journey for your children, for the year 2015!

We have all settled so well back into a new year. New challenges, new experiences and new friendships have all begun! It was great to be able to see and hear all about some very special summer memories spent together, over the summer holidays. It is great to be able link home life with Rockabye! As our Baby and Toddler’s continue on their individual learning journeys, we have seen many new exciting learning interests unfold. “Wet and Wild” is a huge interest at the moment as we continue to explore through our many senses, getting messy, wet and creative. We have been able to add to the children's interest by being able to extend on different experiences. Check out our wall display as the children get involved with water in the sandpit, coloured water and exploring different props while extending on each learning moments! Throughout theses many learning moments the children are continually adding to their growing language skills, learning to play and work alongside others, as they learn from and with each other, and on top of all exploring through their many senses! Our hot topic at the moment is “Things that go ZOOOOM”. This interest has come about over the last few weeks as many children have showed a great interest in exploring the bikes, cars and wheels on many vehicles. The teachers have noticed a love for watching passing rubbish trucks and helping to extend on the interest of rubbish trucks has been a morning ritual. The highlight of the month was being able to extend on this learning interest. We had a very special visit from a local police car and Police Woman. This moment of learning was a great start to this learning interest and to be able to connect Rockabye with the wider world around us, as well as make those connections with the wider community! Keep an eye out for the many master pieces around the Babies and Toddlers environment as each child continues to be creative and expressive in their own time and at their own pace!
