The children have been busy making the backdrop for our frozen wall and have been writing stories about the characters from frozen. The other day we had big blocks of blue ice in the water trough. They are using hammers to break the ice and watched it as it melted. Super hero play is a strong interest and we have had children dressing up in super hero capes and getting their faces painted. Dramatic play is a great way for children to express themselves and use their imagination while developing their language and social skills.
Recently we have also been talking about healthy eating and how to keep our bodies healthy. The children all brought in a piece of fruit and Caryn brought in her juicer and we made some delicious fresh juice. This was very exciting to make and the children each had a turn to put their piece of fruit into the juicer. The children then enjoyed their juice for afternoon tea – Yum! Christmas is just around the corner so we will be starting all our Christmas activities which is very exciting so watch this space.....
Frozen and Superheros
It has been another busy month , the children have been really enjoying a wide range of art activities and have been getting very creative. There is a strong interest in dramatic play, in particular Frozen and Super hero’s. Frozen has been very popular and many of the children like to dress up as Elsa from frozen wearing capes and of course they like to sing ‘let it go’ which is the theme song from frozen.
