January Babies & Toddlers Update
It’s hard to believe it is already 2016! We hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and New Years break with your family and maybe even got to sleep in a little! We missed all of you, and especially the sweet smiles and warm hugs from your children. We are glad to be back with them, and are ready for a great year!
The children have settled back in well as they are enjoying the weather by spending as much time as possible outdoors! The children have been busy further exploring ‘a bug’s life’ - searching for bugs, digging for worms and chasing after butterflies! The children have been having so much fun finding bugs in the garden. They have been asking questions about bugs and wanting to learn more about them. To help with this interest we have also started working on our gardens. This allows the children to learn about nature and bring out their nurturing and caring side too!
With this lovely weather the children have been able to experience different types of messy play! Water, gloop and slime are just the beginning as they further develop their senses and are able to learn and play alongside their friends.
If you were considering toilet training then now is the perfect time to get started. Summer is the best time for your little ones to be in their undies— it’s easier to clean them up and get them changed! If you would like more information we have a little booklet to help you out and we will support you and your child on this amazing journey. The teachers are more than happy to talk through any questions you may have. Time to start bulk buying some knickers for some of you...
Chinese New Year is approaching in early Feb so the children will be having a visit from the local librarian to help us learn more about this festivity. We also have Waitangi Day coming up in which the children will be learning more about Maori heritage alongside their own interests and emerging interests! Watch this space!
